Abstract

PD. Galuh Sari is one of the small and medium enterprises which focus on bread business. PD. Galuh Sari was established in 2001 in Bogor West Java. But at the moment, the system and mechanism of business has not given maximum advantage yet. Such as maximum production capacity. Additionally, product of the company limited to one of kind product. Absence of product innovation caused the company performance give optimum effect yet. Thus, in order to sustain production and to face increasingly tight competition, a development strategy is needed for sustainability business the years to come. Through a development strategy will be found various strategy who could be applicable by a company. The purpose of this research is: (a ) to identify and evaluate the internal and external strategical factor s of the company in bread business development program, (b) to formulate several strategy alternatives applicable in developing PD. Galuh Sari bread business development program , and (c) choose a recommended strategy that would be appropriate and effective to develop PD. Galuh Sari bread business development program. The research was conducted at PD. Galuh Sari Bogor from April to May 2009. Sampling was done using the Purposive Sampling Method, while data analysis in this research used the IFE-EFE Matrix, TOWS Matrix Analysis, and the QSPM Analysis. Based on the TOWS matrix analysis, six alternative strategies were produced, which includes: (a) increasing production and controlling quality product, (b) labeling legal aspects (label merk, label halal, and label PIRT) in product package (c) implement a differentiation product, (d) communicating to get valuable information in marketing, human resources, and production with the assosiation bakery company (e) recruit and train worker, (f)increasing quality of product by controlling the resources used. The strategy with first priority and recommended for PD. Galuh Sari bread business development strategy is strategy increasing production and controlling quality product.
