Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of performance appraisal at Pusdiklat Pengawasan BPKP-Bogor toward the productivity of its employees and to find out which elements of the performance appraisal that has the greatest influence toward productivity. Data obtained from 100 respondents selected among employees of Pusdiklat Pengawasan BPKP. Structural Equation Modeling analysis was used to examined the good of fitness of productivity theoritical model with empirical data exist in the field. Data for SEM processed using LISREL 8.51 software. Attributes analyzed consisted of 10 indicators which can be classified into four dimensions: WHO (the subject of performance appraisal), WHAT (the contents of performance appraisal), WHERE (place taken in conducting performance appraisal) and HOW (method used in conducting performance appraisal). The result of this study showed that empirical data fit with the analyzed productivity model, which can be seen from several indices of LISREL output, such as Chi-Square, Degree of Freedom, Probability, and RMSEA. It also showed that dimension of THAT have the greatest contribution toward productivity followed by dimension of WHERE and HOW which both have the same value. In contrast, dimension of WHAT have the lowest contribution to productivity. These matters explain that contents used in conducting performance appraisal has not fulfilled employees’ expectation yet. Therefore, in order to achieve it, Pusdiklat Pengawasan BPKP ought to manage and evaluate the contents of performance appraisal accurately.
