The objectives of this research are to (1) identify the influence of motivation towards the work productivity of employees in PT. XYZ, Pekanbaru; and (2) to analyze which of the motivation elements that generate the most effect or influence on work productivity. By implementing the census technique as the preferred sampling method, sixty three employees of PT. XYZ participated as respondents. This research utilizes the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze and compare the theory-based model with the actual conditions in the company. The data obtained from the SEM analysis is further processed using the software LISREL (Linear Structural Relationship) 8.5.1. There are 10 indicators used as analysis objects, which can be classified into 2 dimensions of motivation constructors. These dimensions are motivator factors and hygiene factors. The results of this research shows that the data collected from the company are consistent with the theories applied. This conclusion can be seen in the indices of LISREL’s output, which display the values of certain parameters such as chi-square, leverage degree, probability, and RMSEA. The output also shows that compared to the hygiene factor, the motivator dimension produces a higher contribution towards the employee’s work productivity. Furthermore, the company has not yet been able to comply with the employee’s expectations of their hygiene factors. In other words, further evaluation of employee motivation emphasizing on hygiene factors is required. These steps will lead to a condition satisfactory to the expectation of both the company and the employees; high work productivity as a result of highly motivated employees.
