Abstract

The job satisfaction and motivation on the employees are among the importance factors that affected the employees prformance,thus helping a company to achive its corporate goals. CV Baretta Cemerlang is one of a developed ceramics company in Bogor. The high level on work saturation among the employees is allegedly resulting the increase number of defect products, that is also due to the employees negligance. Therefore, it affected the profit and overall productivity of the company. Such negligence may occur due to lack of job satisfaction and motivation on the employees so that it eventually affects the performance. This study aims to: (1) analyze th job satisfaction of CV Baretta Cemerlang employees, (2) analyze the employees motivation of CV Baretta Cemerlang, (3) analyze the performance of CV Baretta Cemerlang employees, and (4) Analyze the influence of job satisfaction and motivation to CV Baretta Cemerlang employees performance. The research used a quantitative method through questionnaire. The distribution of questionnaires was carried out to collect the data about job satisfaction, motivation, and employee performance. Interviews were conducted with the company manager and 135 selected employees in the production division, with the number of represented samples is 101 respondents that is obtained from the calculation using Slovin formula. The sampling method was done by probability sampling, which is simple random sampling method. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used as quantitative method. The results showed that job satisfaction level is in good category, whereas job content indicator, supervision, organization and management, and colleagues are in good condition. Meanwhile, the indicator of salary and work condition is in poor condition. The level of employee motivation is in the good category whereas quality control indicators, relationships with supervisors, relationships with colleagues, working conditions, and status are in good condition. Meanwhile, the indicators of administration and policy, and job security are in poor condition. Furthermore, employee performance level is in good category whereas the other indicators that inculdes job quantity, job quality, punctuality, attendance, and cooperation ability are in good condition. The result of SEM analysis shows that the job satisfaction has a directly significant effect to motivation, which indicated that the better the work satisfaction, it leads to an increase on the employees motivation. Moreover, motivation has also a significant effect directly to the employee performance, which indicated that the higher the motivation, it leads to the improvement of the employees performance. On the contrary, job satisfaction does not directly affect the employees performance, which indicated job satisfaction has no effect on employee performance. However, job satisfaction has an indirectly significant impact on performance through motivation. In this case, high motivation seems likely to increase the job satisfaction among the employees, that eventually affect the improvement of the employee performance. Furthermore, managerial implications that is suggested to be applied by the company are (1) corporate leaders should improve and maintain good relationships between supervisors and subordinates so that employees will feel appreciated, (2) companies should hold gatherings or activities outside the company in order to improve the closer relationship between manager and employees (3) health insurance should be given to all employees to guarantee their pension period, (4) companies should improve the salary system and allowances given to the employees.
