Abstract

Poultry industry is one of the industry that has an important role in encouraging economy growth in Indonesia. Poultry commodities, especially chicken, have excellent market prospects because they are supported by the characteristics of poultry products in the form of meat and eggs favored by the people of Indonesia. The number of chicken population in recent years has increased. PT. Sierad Produce Tbk is one of the companies engaged in the chicken poultry industries. The excellence growth of business development in the poultry industry requires PT Sierad Produce Tbk to continue to improve company performance. However, currently, the company is experiencing a decline in net sales from 2012 to 2016. It is inversely proportional to the rising chicken population rate. The decline in net sales in the company can be indicated due to the company performance which is still not good. One of the factors affecting company performance is employee performance. There are several factors that can affect employee performance, one of which is transformational leadership and organizational culture factors. The research was conducted at PT Sierad Produce, Tbk which is an integrated poultry farming company. Respondents of this research are employees at PT Sierad Produce Tbk's head office with the position as supervisor. The number of respondents in this research was 77 people and using census as a technique of determining the respondents. Processing techniques and data analysis used in this study are descriptive statistical analysis, rank spearman correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling-partial least square (SEM-PLS). The results of this study indicate that the transformational leadership has a positive influence on organizational culture. The transformational leadership also positively affects employee performance. In addition, organizational culture has a positive effect on employee performance. In this study, transformational leadership have a greater impact on organizational culture than on employee performance. It shows that transformational leaders have a high role in creating organizational culture.
