Abstract

Analysis of Health Services Perfomance on Karya Bhakti Hospital in Bogor : A Balanced Scorecard Approach Edwin Miharza The purpose of this research was (1) to obtain the hospitalperformance in health services and (2) to identify important factors which influence the eflectivity of the hospital in terms of service and performance. The research methods were analytical descriptive with balanced scorecard approach. The aspects that were measured included the performance of financial customer, internal business process and growth and learning of the hospital. The research was carried out on Karya Bakti hospital which is located on dr. Semeru street, West Bogor District, Bogor City during one month from February until March 2003. In take follow the sample of to get respondent with stratified random sampling and purposive sampling. The data used in research consist of primary and secondary data. The primary data was collected by tising questionnaire to patients, hospital employees and also experts in health while secondary data was collected from literature on hospital report The data which have been obtained were than processed by using descriplive analysis, balanced scorecard in perspective of pnancial, customer, internal business process and growth and learning, mann-whilney test, rank spearman correlation test, range criteria technique, measurement on staff rollover index, paired comparison method. The results of perfomance on Karya Bhakti hospital with balanced scorecard approach financial perspective as very good costumer erqective as very go& intemd business process perspective as gwd, and growth and learning perspective as rather good The general performance of the hospital was classijkd as good. The factors that should be given more attention on the hospital included (I) innovation, (2) employee working satisfaction, (3) employee working productivify, (4) employee retention, (5) idormation vstem capabililles, (6) motivation and empowerement Assessment of performance with balanced scorecard approach can be made as an alternative choice for measuring assessment of performance on Karya Bhakti hosptal, because it crm give more comprehensivtz information. Katya Bhakii hospid should make assessment of perfomance in accordance fo four perspectives which are j i m i a l perspective, customer perspective, internal business process perspective, and growth and learning perspective with balanced scorecard approach so that it can facilitate assessment of perfomance.
