Abstract

Competitive Strategy Formulation Forklift Business Unit PT. Trakindo Utama to Fit in with Environmental Turbulence Nurliza . The purpose of this study was to identify critical success factors external and internal environmental influencing company's competitive position, to formulate alternative of competitive strategy and to select suitable competitive strategy for the company. The data were collected from PT. Trakindo Utama using case study method and sample respondents chosen with purposive sampling technique from internal management level of company and external company by interview and questioner in Jakarta and Bekasi IEmatrix, environmental industry by five's porter model, SWOT, SPACE and QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) were used to analyze the data. The results of the study showed that market penetration strategy and market development strategy were the most suitable in corporate strategy to have competitive position for the company. Thei company could use primary-demand marketing strategy, selective-demand marketing strategy, gradually included in market strategy by segmentation, targeting, positioning and strategic brand management as their target markets. The result suggested that company should select their potential market by industrial company segmentation, improve their potential customers and brand leveraging strategy to get market success.
