Abstract

There are two major aims of this study. First, it is to describe the actual condition of training's participants by identifying the correlation coeficient between training indicators and knowledge Improvement, skill and attitude of the staflafter training. Second, it is to identify any training indicators, which have not improved the knowledge, the skill and the attitude of the staffafter training. In this study, the method used is a descriptive method with a purposive sampling type of study, where of 58 people of the population, 23 respondents selected have participated in the functional training. The selected respondents are specified by taking account of job diversity, job level, age and length of service. This study is for testing the relation between two variables, that is the training variable and the staffperformance variable. The training variables conzprise of knowledge, skill and attitude; while the performance variables are the participants' seriousness, the instructor's behavior, the training method, the training materials, and the training facilities. To make the relation test easier, all indicators are made into a relation matrix. The statistical analysis tools used are frequency, correlation coeflcient, and T-test, where frequency aims at discovering the majority of answers for the provided answer choices, the correlation coefficient aims at discovering the level of closeness between one indicator and another, and T-test aims at discovering the relation between two indicators, signzj?cant and insignificant. With the statistical analysis on 19 indicators, only 5 indicators showing a positive and significant relation while the other 14 indicators show an insigntficant positive and an insignificant negative. The 5 indicators showing the positive and sign~jicant relation are: the participants' seriousness in carrying out the training has improved their knowledge, the discussion method practiced has improved their knowledge, the participants' seriousness in carrying out the training has improved their aptitude, the practical method of training has improved their aptitude, and the training facilities have improved their aptitude. While the 14 indicators showing an insignificant positive relation and an insignificant negative relation are occurring in the training materials for attitude, the lecture method, and the instructor's behavior in teaching.
